My name is Jim Driver and I live by the sea in Ramsgate on the south coast of England.
In my time I’ve been a music promoter, writer and editor. In 1994 I founded the independent publishing house, The Do-Not Press, which published writing by such authors as Ken Bruen, Julian Rathbone, Maxim Jakubowski, Mick Farren, Bill James, Carol Anne Davis, Ian Rankin, John Connelly and Mike Ripley. It sailed the choppy seas of independent publishing for a decade before succumbing to market pressures.
I have reviewed books for The Guardian, The Independent on Sunday, Time Out (London) and Bizarre magazine, and until 2004 wrote about beer, pubs and Indian food for Time Out. I also wrote most of the reviews in the Time Out Pubs and Bars Guide for the best part of 12 years.
Books published under my own name include Rock Talk, Funny Talk, and The Mammoth Book of Sex & Drugs & Rock ‘n’ Roll.
I have also written and ghostwritten books under several pseudonyms.
I am in the process of writing a series of Mystery novels featuring Detective Inspector Jessica Coren, set on the Isle of Thanet. The first book in the series will be Murder By The Seaside.
